This is an ideal destination for relaxation and recreation. They provide everything: three excellent meals per day, morning and afternoon teas, guided walks, nature talks, entertainment and much more. However, the real drawcard is the setting. This family hotel is situated at the head of a valley in the foothills of the Drakensberg mountains. As such, it is surrounded by mountains on three sides. When you climb up to the skyline (on well marked paths), you are rewarded by magnificent views of the high Drakensberg mountains.

My room was spacious and comfortable. My bathroom contained both a shower and a spa bath. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good filling breakfasts. Dinner menu offers a good selection including vegetarian options although it is the same each day there is enough selection to try something different every day over a stay of say a week. There are a number of walks from the accommodation itself and a few minutes drive away in the Drakensberg. Pleasant gardens with two small swimming pools.

All went well. The property shows its age and the accommodations are not luxurious but we didn't need that. We wanted a comfortable place to stay in the Drakensberg Mountains and that is what we got so we were very satisfied. The hotel enabled us to stay in these mountains which was high on my list of places to see in South Africa so I was quite happy to have discovered and book this stay. The hiking in the mountain is marvelous. Lots of waterfalls, magnificent views.

Dalmore is a Wonderful Guest Farm (working farm) with True South African KZN Hospitality-Always Greeting, Friendly & Smiling. Peaceful and Quite with complete overview of the Drakensberg range-Absolutely Magnificent and Spioenkop Dam close by, walking distance from Dalmore. What for a beautiful and special place! I am travelling around South Africa for more than six years and have not stayed in any place like Mackaya Bella Lodge before. The surroundings are lush, green, tranquil and the views over the Drakensberge are spectacular. The hosts Lyn and Patrick are wonderful. They have helped us in so many ways and made our stay unforgettable. I am already looking forward to visit them again.

Absolutely loved this magical place. Nice and quiet getaway, falling asleep with only the sound of the river. So much attention for details by the sweetest couple who run the place. Amazing view. Nice walk at the property along. the town close by felt very safe. We used this spot to travel to Drakensberg park, so after a day of hiking this was the perfect place to relax. One of our favorite spots in South Africa!

Great location, great little cottage (which turned out to be a bit bigger than expected actually). Beautiful big garden and super close to all the main attractions in the Drakensberg. James, the owner/ host, was brilliant with his communication and he kept us up to date and always offered his support and assistance if needed. He made our stay that much better! :) The cottage is very well equipped too.

So peaceful and quiet! The cottage is simple but well equipped, with everything we needed. The Jetmaster fireplace is great. The location is fantastic- right at the top of Bergview Estate, with direct access to the reserve and walking trails from the garden. Drakensberg Sun Hotel is also very accessible. Anne was a fantastic host- extremely responsive to any queries.

Set in the stunning foothills of the Drakensberg mountains, this is a truly stunning spot. Peaceful with lush gardens and plunge pools. It is self catering and as such excellent value. I would prefer to spend my time here than in a nearby plush hotel. Great walks into the mountains are on your doorstep. Staff and owners very friendly and accommodating.

The location of the river crossing B&B is excellent. Just up the R600 before the main central Drakensberg hotels. Fenced-in rooms for added security. Pet friendly - dogs cannot get out. Ryan the manager was excellent and pulled out all the stops to ensure we were comfortable.

Geraldine is the perfect host. she gave me a very warm welcome for this my second visit, Maybe it was because visitors to South Africa from the UK are so rare at this time because of the UK Governments restrictions. I highly recommend this B&B in the Southern Drakensbergs.

The apartment is in a very nice area close to the Drakensberg Mountains. The area has very nice walking trials and easy to access. The bed was very comfortable. The apartment has recently been renovated and has a beautiful kitchen and bathroom with a nice big screen tv.

The view was breathtaking. The resort location fulfilled the requirements of serenity and peacefulness, however the guests that were opposite our unit were loud and noisy. Our unit had an amazing view of the rugged Drakensberg mountain range and Bell Park Dam below.

Lovely property. Very quiet and pictoresque. Very accommodating. Great outdoor spaces with stunning mature trees and meadows all around. Good WiFi. A great spot from which to plan day hikes on the Central Drakensberg area. Great value!

Well-equipped and clean apartment in a very good location. Everything has been refined to the smallest detail. An ideal location for exploring the Drakensberg. I heartily recommend it.

The location of Drakensberg Sun is beautiful and upon check-in, the staff was friendly and helpful at the reception desk. The room was clean and neat with an okay view of the mountain.

The location was superb, private but within close access to Drakensberg Sun Hotel and many other easy to reach places to visit. Hikes could start from the doorstep!

The view of the Drakensberg is breath-taking. The overall experience is wonderful with comfortable rooms, delicious food, and very friendly staff.

Amazing to relax after hiking in the drakensberg. It was above our expectations. Our best stay in South Africa by far!
